❄️ Idaho: the winter wonderland of the Northwest

Idaho winters might not be the first thing that comes to mind for those unfamiliar with our state, but they're definitely not something to miss!

Winter in Idaho is a magical time! Filled with wonder, snow, skiing, and a plethora of frosty activities, it'll make you melt for the Gem State like marshmallows in hot cocoa. Although it can be chilly, Idaho offers so much adventure and natural beauty that no matter your age, background, or interests, there's something for everyone.

Idahoans know how to handle the cold winter weather. For the most part, we love it. It's just a part of life. But winter 2023-2024 is expected to bring more than just chilly-to-frigid temperatures. Experts are saying we should prepare for a lot of snow, too!

 

 

Does this mean we're in for another Snowmageddon of 2016-2017 when Boise was blanked in with a whopping 39.1 inches of snow? Possibly.

❄️ Can Idahoans trust the Farmer's Almanac predictions?

In short, you betcha! For over 230 years, the Farmers' Almanac has been predicting winter weather across the United States.

Their 80 percent accuracy rate shows just how reliable they are. According to their predictions, the snow and cold weather are expected to arrive in Idaho before the official start of winter. So it’s a great time to get your shovel, snow boots, and hot cocoa ready!

For many of us Snowmageddon 2016-2017 is a not so distant memory. Some people really miss seeing that much white stuff in Boise. Others dread the possibility of it happening again. How common is it?
