6 Strategies to Avoid Coyote & Other Wild Animal Encounters in Boise
- Never feed wild animals directly or indirectly. Once wildlife grows reliant on human-provided sustenance, they can become aggressive when the handouts stop.
- Always secure your garbage. Overflowing trash bins practically beckon wild animals. If your trash can is too full to close, keep it locked in your garage until pick-up day.
- It doesn't need to be perfect, but if your landscape isn't free of thick brush or unkempt bushes, predators can hide there.
- Whenever possible, seal off crawl spaces beneath decks, patios, sheds, and residences.
- Bird feeders attract wild animals, especially hungry ones, including mountain lions, coyotes, and bobcats.
- Keep your kids and pets in sight and indoors at dusk and through the night during coyote mating season (mid-January through March).

Before you judge the filial cannibals in the gallery below, remember:
> they can't escape their homegrown hellions with a therapeutic trip to Target
> there are no babysitters in the wild
> they can't send them off to school five days a week
> and most, if not all of them, were just lonely, h*rny singles looking for a one-night stand who wound up as single parents
Cut 'em some slack, people 🙄
