Idaho Teachers, Sorry in Advance for ‘Karen’ Parents

School has just started for some counties while others start next week. Because the pandemic is ramping up again, there has been a lot of debate on what's best in terms of keeping students and teachers safe. Specifically, the issue of wearing masks and all the heated rhetoric behind it. I think it is important to note that this is not the fault of the teachers who are just trying to educate your children.

It is inevitable that teachers are going to face a lot of angry parents with misplaced anger. It happened last year when the pandemic changed the landscape of the classroom, and if FB is any indicator, parents and guardians already have their pitchforks sharpened waiting to attack teachers who are simply enforcing whatever rules the district has set in place.

I just want to apologize in advance and let you know that for every "Karen" that will be mad at enforcing masks, not enforcing masks, and whatever other random things they find to complain about, there are tons of parents who understand you are doing your best and absolutely appreciate all the hard work you put into molding minds, boosting self esteem, and nurturing their children.

I went to school for 4 years to become an educator only to realize that it's just way too hard and I don't have the patience or brilliance to do it. Thank you for taking on this often thankless job with passion and integrity. You are absolute rock stars and those Karens know nothing. Might as well call them Jon Snows.
