Remember when you decided to move to Boise? Life was going to be better. You would exchange the rush of the big city for the more scenic, natural beauty that Idaho has to offer.

Two words: What happened? Look around! All of us who were happy to take ourselves out of the rat race found ourselves in a new rat race with different surroundings, streets, and people. Our blood pressure is right back to where it was when we left that old life behind. I don't know how it happened, but it did, and the evidence is in the numbers.

According to Insurify, Idaho drivers get the fourth-most speeding tickets in the country. The states that get more are also full of people trying to escape the rat race: North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Ohio. Fortunately for all of us lead-footed transplants, Idaho also has the cheapest speeding tickets, which leads to cheaper insurance rates than those other places.

It makes you wonder if the problem is that we inherently want to move faster or if we have turned our new lives into the ones we left. Perhaps it's because we just don't know any other way.

Regardless of the reason, it might be best to leave a little more time to get where we are trying to go. It would be safer for everyone on the road and bring our stress levels down to a more manageable level. Because you and I know that we won't do that, hopefully, speeding tickets will continue to be cheap.
