'Tis the season of giving.

Just in case no one has told you yet, welcome to the holiday season. I know, I can't believe it is already here either. But alas, here we are. It's the most wonderful time of the year. It's the time when we gather with loved ones to count our blessings and give to one another.

Can you feel that spirit of giving in the air?

As it turns out, we tend to feel fairly generous in the state of Idaho all throughout the year. We are a pretty charitable state according to WalletHub. We landed at number 21 on their list.

That got me thinking about where our well-intended money goes?

I'm sure we each have a charity that is near and dear to our hearts. Perhaps you have a passion for animals who need homes or children who are battling cancer. Maybe you have experienced a time in your life in which you received help from a charity and now you are paying it forward for others. There are so many ways to give back in our state and across the nation.

But what's the largest charity in Idaho?

According to GoBankingRates, the largest charity in our state is St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. Their gross receipts are listed at $1,756,289,694. And their total assets equal $1,509,082,323.

They publication also noted that this organization was named one of the "Top 100 Hospitals for 2015" by Healthgrade.
