There's plenty to cry about in 2020. Covid-19 has been wreaking havoc in all the ways. From the devastating death toll, to the economic shutdown, to the "new normal" where community gathering and fun is restricted or canceled altogether. But crying in the street while making your way out of the grocery store is hardly appropriate and is flat out uncomfortable while wearing a mask.

Thankfully the weekend is upon us! It's the perfect time to seclude yourself from everyone and have a deep cathartic cry. Now, I don't want your entire weekend to be ruled by sadness, so here are my tips to expediting that cry so you can be on your merry way.

First, grab a bottle or case of whatever alcohol induces an emotional mood. You know which one. Grab some tissues and a liter of water. Then plop yourself on the couch and put on Marley & Me. Start watching and drinking. By the end you will be crying so hard and so much, you will feel drained of all emotion and will want to feel joy again. At this point clean yourself up with the tissues and chug that water. You'll feel replenished and ready to push forward.

If you're not off this weekend, hold on a little longer until it is your weekend. This method works any day of the week. And remember, we're all in this together. It's ok to cry.
