How Many Vacations Do You Take Per Year?

Do you go on vacation every year? If so, how many vacations do you take? We live in a world filled with braggadocios Instagram photos that show people on vacation more than ever. It's easy to feel jealousy creep in, so I got curious. How many vacations does the average American family take per year?

I'll be the first person to admit I have an unhealthy amount of jealousy towards my sister. She was always the "golden child" growing up and truly from at least the outside looking in she lives the ideal life. Big fancy house, solid marriage, three kids, she's gorgeous, runs marathons, and of course they vacation All the Time. I try really hard to combat the jealousy, but literally every time I talk to her they are prepping for another vacation!

They are supposed to come visit me in a couple weeks, but before they do they are going to fly to Texas for a concert. Earlier this month they were in New Orleans, before that it was NYC, Mexico, I lose track! I just have no idea how anyone affords a lifestyle like this. Vacationing is so expensive!

Turns out I'm more in line with the average American family. We do one big vacation a year. Other than that, I am scraping by to take a couple road trips to Utah to see family, and we always stay with relatives.

Vacationing in general nearly breaks the bank for me, so I just don't know what people are doing for a living to be able to vacation all the time. That's not even considering the fact that you have to take time off of work to do it! I could never be gone that much!
