A Small Fundraiser That Became a Major Festival

Highway 30 Music Fest began in 2009 as a small fundraiser at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer, Idaho. Over the years, it grew into a major event, attracting a local crowd and bringing fans in from all over the United States.

The festival’s hometown vibe, combined with major artists like Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wade, and Jack Ingram, helped it earn a loyal following.

The event eventually expanded to four days and featured artists across multiple genres, food vendors, and camping.

2025 Lineup Had Big Names Scheduled

This year’s Highway 30 Music Fest lineup was set to include artists like Luke Grimes, Aaron Lewis, Hinder, and the returning Morgan Wade.

Growing Pains After 2023 Texas Expansion

In 2023, organizers expanded Highway 30 Music Fest to include an event at the Texas Motor Speedway. However, the Texas version of the event faced setbacks. Saving Country Music wrote an extensive piece on the issues that challenged the 2023 and 2024 Texas events.

Official Announcement Cancelling the 2025 Highway 30 Music Festival

On the morning of April 28, 2025, organizers made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s festival. In an emotional announcement shared on social media, the Highway 30 Music Fest team said:

"It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of our decision to cancel HWY 30 Music Fest 2025. After 12 amazing years of music, community, and unforgettable memories, this decision was not made lightly. Due to circumstances out of our control, including economic uncertainty and Gordy's continued decline in health, we have not been able to achieve the ticket sales necessary to move forward with this year’s event."

The announcement confirmed that all ticket purchases will be refunded within 90 days.

At this time, they say they are uncertain whether Highway 30 Music Fest will return in the future. The team expressed gratitude for the past 12 years, saying the memories created together "will remain with us forever."

What’s Next for Highway 30?

The future of the Highway 30 Music Festival is unclear. Whether the event returns in the future or not, I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing Gordy and Megan Schroeder the very best. Putting together an event of that magnitude is incomprehensible.

Highway 30 Music Fest Artist Playing at Boise Music Festival 2025

Yellowstone's Luke Grimes was scheduled as one of the featured artists at the 2025 Highway 30 Music Fest. He can be seen at this year's Boise Music Festival on June 21st, along with Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Flo Rida, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Bryan Martin, and Neon Trees.
