Final Days Of Eagle Rodeo
Who doesn't love a good rodeo? Even if you aren't a big time fan this local rodeo has been bringing in the "locals" for over 16 years. Tonight and Tomorrow close out this three-day event just outside of Boise. So put on the cowboy hats, the boots, the awesome belt buckles and grab the family and head out to Eagle.
When the Eagle Rodeo started over 16 years ago in their current location they had just over 400 seats. Growth is good and has seen the expansion of the stadium up to 4,000 seats and can host a growing crowd. It's an exciting thing for Rodeo organizers, who just recently joined the Profession Rodeo Cowboy Association. This opens the door for bigger names and more money to the small town event. Experience a real Idaho Rodeo with the Posse-ettes, Mutton Bustng, and Calf Steering, and oh yeah there will Bronco Riding and Bulls. That was always my favorite seeing the Cowboys conquering these powerful animals and staying on for 8 seconds was an adrenaline rush even watching it from the stands.
Tonight (Friday 6/9) is "Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night" inviting everyone to wear pink to the arena. St. Als will be on location with the mobile mammogram bus offering free services. Tomorrow Night (Saturday6/10) for the 16th time the Eagle Rodeo will host its final show of the season. This finale though will be a bit different than the previous years. It will be the final show at the current location just off of State Street because it's moving to Avimore. Find out more about the move and what it mean's for the organization WATCH Channel 6's Story on the Eagle Rodeo HERE.
