Caldwell Turns Annual Winter Wonderland Festival Into Weekend Celebration
The Treasure Valley is getting prepared for some frigid temperatures this weekend that include snowflakes. It's almost Winter and that means Christmas!
We're seeing several holiday events confirming annual events like the Scenty Tunnel of Lights, Winter Garden aGlow at the Idaho Botanical Garden and you can add Caldwell's Annual Winter Wonderland at Indian Creek Plaza.
Caldwell celebrates 13 years by bringing in the holiday traditions with a Winter Wonderland experience for families. The difference in this year's annual festivities is the lighting event. They plan to celebrate the kickoff over a weekend verse one night. Keri Smith, CEO of Destination Caldwell discussed the change in a press release.
Winter Wonderland is a great event that brings attention to and supports our downtown businesses. Last year approximately 15,000 people visited the Winter Wonderland light display on opening night, and we knew drawing such a large crowd to our downtown this year would be unsafe. We hope creating a three-day event disperses people over three days and alleviates the crowds.
This will be a weekend to remember that includes memories from walking the six-block, one million light display lined down Indian Creek. Enjoy the Christmas spirit with the sounds of carolers like from a Hallmark movie, tasty food trucks for the little ones, and ice skating for hours. What about Santa?
I called Sarah Gross, Marketing Coordinator for Destination Caldwell and Indian Creek Plaza. My kids wanted me to ask this question. Plus, I love Santa too.
We're excited to also announce that Santa will be here offering a contactless photo opportunity In the sleigh with your family.
Talking to Sarah and listening to her enthusiasm was refreshing. We need some great positive events where we can forget the other stuff happening. My wife is already trying to get the Christmas tree up this weekend. The holidays are here.
