Since 2001, the Eagle Rodeo has entertained Idahoans with its high-energy western action and family-friendly fun.

Brimming with boot-stomping action, this rodeo packs a punch patriots across the Gem State can't help but to love.

Year after year, the Eagle Rodeo leads with its best boot forward as it prioritizes its patrons' needs above all else. And while its lineup of impressive vendors certainly amplifies event sales, it's most significant draw—the spirit of the crowd—can't be quantified.

Wandering my way through the loose-dirt walkways among the booths, I was overwhelmed by the acts of kindness and civility happening all around me. Modest displays of old-fashioned notions like chivalry, good manners, and a concern for the common welfare were infectious among the crowd.

Conversations overheard between strangers were more akin to ones you might hear between lifelong friends.

The happiness was palpable. The crowd's energy was thriving.

And after the horrific tragedies our nation has faced in recent weeks, it was the victory our community needed. Padding the event's momentum was the theme of the night: Tough Enough to Wear Pink—a breast cancer research fundraiser.

By any measure, this evening's Eagle Rodeo was a sterling example of unity and everything we love about life in the Gem State. And that's something to celebrate.
