Boise State Football Player’s Arrest is the Second in Two Weeks for the Team
The loss to Virginia wasn't the only thing that went wrong for the Boise State football team over the weekend. One player is facing charges for DUI, and he's the second Bronco arrested in the past two weeks.
Cornerback Michael Young was arrested between 3 and 4am Sunday, and KTVB says the arrest report says it was for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Young was expected to be a starter heading into the season after transferring over the summer from Dodge City Community College in Kansas City, but he has yet to start a game. No word yet from the coaching staff on how the weekend arrest will impact Young's role with the team.
This is the second arrest in eight days for the Broncos. Defensive lineman David Moa was arrested for disturbing the peace after an incident outside of a Boise nightclub, and he sat out the first quarter of Friday night's game against Virginia.
After these two arrests, and the fact that Virginia handed Boise State its worst home loss since 2001 on Friday night, things can only look up for the Broncos, right? The team has plenty of time to regroup. They're off this week, with the next game October 6th at BYU.
