What do people really want in a partner? Someone who's received BOTH does of the COVID-19 vaccine and is now fully vaccinated, duh! Welcome to dating in 2021.

You may or may not have heard of the dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. It's a San Francisco-based app and is now adding a "Vaccine Status" to its dating profile this week. Singles in the area will now be able to publicly declare to protentional matches if they’ve received the COVID-19 vaccination and to what extent. Daters will be able to select from one of five responses to add to their dating profile: fully vaccinated, waiting on an additional dose, planning to get vaccinated, not getting vaccinated or prefer not to say.

The advantages of dating someone who is vaccinated are pretty obvious - it means you can actually date them as you would PRE-COVID days without having to worry about anything, given that you are vaccinated yourself too. The  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began easing up earlier this week on COVID guidelines for those who are vaccinated. Those who are can gather with others who have also been vaccinated indoors without wearing a face mask or social distancing.

You could actually be updating that Vaccine Status on your dating profile sooner rather than later too. President Biden announced in his first presidential address to the nation on Thursday that all adult Americans will eligible to receive the vaccine no later than May 1st! There may finally be a light at the end of this tunnel.
