Boise Farmers Market Opens Again Soon With New Vendors
Spring is right around the corner! This Saturday, March 20th marks the first official day of the season and there is so much that I'm ready to embrace with it, including farmers markets! We're just two weeks out from the Boise Farmers Market opening up again.
Similar to last season, customers will be able to make reservations online and then pick their fresh food up via the Boise Farmers Market Drive-Thru! This drive-thru system was adopted during the pandemic with the health and safety of vendors, staff, and customers in mind. Boise Farmers Market says, "we want you and your loved ones to have access to nutritious and delicious local food now more than ever."
On Tuesday and Wednesday of each week, customers can order their food, reserve a time slot to pick it up, and pay for their items all online. On Saturday of that same week, customers can head to the market and pick up their items during their reserved time slot. The online market opens Tuesday, March 30th with the first pick up on April 3rd.
There are also some new vendors to look forward to this year. Brown Shuga Soul Food is bringing in irresistible southern-style soul food. Idaho Springs Foods has delicious steelhead trout, rainbow trout and Idaho white sturgeon to offer. Blue Hen Cookies specializes in beautiful shortbread cookie gift boxes and ERTH Beverage is a company that creates botanical sodas. A small local farm called Umoja Na Uhuru operated by Abdi Haji will have lots of fresh produce a little later in the growing season, including greens, beets, carrots.
