Okay, this is crazy....6 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, 31 degrees at noon, 76 inches of snow at the base and 81 inches on top of the mountain!

That, my friends is today's weather report and snow conditions from Bogus Basin Ski area. Today, being April 11th, 2019.

I can remember late Decembers when Bogus was lucky to be open with barely two feet of snow and now they are closing April 14th with more than six feet of snow!

My brother from Connecticut came to visit this week and we drove up the hill yesterday so I could show him how in Boise this time of the year we can ski for a few hours and then go play some golf. I was trying to show off! Besides, he's from Connecticut with no chance of moving here so I was safe.

At 2 p.m. it was 32 degrees with snow flurries and no lift lines. It was a skier and snowboarder's dream!

Quite frankly, three quarters of the way up the hill there wasn't any snow, then we turned a corner and there it was, snow. Then more snow and then a ton of snow.

As a skier, this was exciting, but I also realize the snow will have to go somewhere and that's into the water shed below.

It will be a wet May and June in the valley, that is if it ever stops snowing.
