Billy’s First BSU Homecoming Parade and Game!
All last week I was so excited for the weekend not only because I didn't have to wake up to my alarm clock but also because I was going to my first Boise State Football game. While I wish I would have made it to a game earlier in the season it was amazing going to my first one as they played their Homecoming game against BYU on the blue turf.
Savannah and I started by going to the Bronco Shop in Nampa before going downtown for the parade where I picked up an orange and blue fleece pullover and Savannah picked up a Broncos beanie. We then arrived downtown and found a spot on University Drive about 15 minutes before the parade began.
The parade lasted just under 30 minutes for all the floats and vehicles to make their way around the route, with the star of the parade being Buster the Bronco! After the parade we had over 2 hours until kickoff so we grabbed an Uber to Lucky Fins for dinner, which was delicious. While the Uber was great I was trying to grab some of those e-scooters but all the ones around the stadium had no battery left.
We made it back to the tailgates with around 30 minutes before kickoff and met up with some friends before heading into the game. After seeing the blue turf on ESPN so many times growing up it was really something special to see it in person. The game was amazing and Boise State got the 21-16 victory, with the Broncos defense recording a sack on the final play of the game while BYU was only 3 yards away from a touchdown. I cannot wait to check out another game at Albertsons Stadium!
