Billy and Charene’s First Year As The Christmas Elves
This past Thursday we were lucky enough to become the 'Christmas Elves' visiting children staying at St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise. It was an amazing experience to say the least and wouldn't have been possible without hundreds of toys that were donated by very generous people all throughout the Treasure Valley as we had drop off locations at all Metro by T-Mobile stores.
Upon arrival we met some of the tremendous staff at St. Luke's and we quickly unloaded all the gifts and started the process of handing them out. From the very first toy we gave away in the hallway it was the most wonderful feeling in the world. Just knowing that for a few minutes these kids forget about these huge medical battles they are fighting to just enjoy being a kid and playing with a toy.
Every single person that was staying at the hospital was so positive, it was truly inspiring to see. The patients getting care and the parents as well as other family members are so strong, facing obstacles most of us can't even imagine. It was an experience that we will never forget, and a tradition we plan to continue for many years to come.
Thank you again to everyone who donated to the 'Christmas Elves'. Here is a video of highlights from our visit to St. Luke's, hopefully you see the toy you donated and see how much joy it brings to a kids face.
