As someone who regularly hiked back in Vegas, I was excited to start hiking in my new town. Everyone I asked told me I should start with Table Rock, as it's one of the quicker hikes that's "less strenuous." In order to avoid the heat, I headed out early in the morning.

Immediately I realized I was either lied to, or I am more out of practice than I thought. Probably the latter. I was immediately winded. But I couldn't let that stop me from reaching the top, so I soldiered on.

Making it an easier go of it was how friendly everyone on the trail was. I must have exchanged "good morning" 47 times with various hikers, each time feeling encouraged to get to the top. I should also note how well everyone adhered as best they could to social distancing while passing one another on the trail. I love rule followers.

Before I knew it, I was taking in an awesome view of the city. Such an accomplishment for this chubby girl. The hike down was significantly easier, but my goal is to get to the point where I'm jogging the trail both ways. This will obviously take time to reach, so be ready to catch me on that trail for weeks to come.
