If this restaurant was on your list of places to visit, you've missed your shot to give it a try!

According to the Idaho Statesman, The Counter, a custom burger restaurant near H&M, is calling it quits after five years in the Village at Meridian. Customers hoping to build their own creation or enjoy an adult milkshake on Sunday were greeted with lock doors and a note saying that the Meridian location is closed.  However, the note seemed didn't seem like a final farewell, but more like a "see you soon."

It went on to explain that they were leaving The Village and that customers could keep up on information about a possible future Treasure Valley location by following The Counter on Facebook and Instagram. Those interested operating their own The Counter franchise were also invited to get in contact via e-mail.

I'm sad to see this one go.  The Counter was one of our favorite places to grab something to eat after a run at Kleiner Park (although, after the small food fight we got into there one time...I don't think they really wanted our running club to come back again.) They had so many unique choices of buns, sauces, cheeses and toppings to pick for you burger that you just can't find anywhere else in the Treasure Valley.  Plus, they were the only place I know of that does spiked milkshakes here in the Treasure Valley!

I'll admit every time we visited The Counter, the service was rather slow but the food there was SO WORTH the wait.
