Alcohol a Factor in Car Crash Early Sunday Leaving One Dead
It is so sad to report that one man lost his life early Sunday morning in a car crash in Meridian. 23-year old Courtni Verity was on Ten Mile Road in a 2005 Toyota Avalon when she rear-ended a 2004 Ford Mustang around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The Mustang hit a guardrail and spun around, resulting in the ejection of the driver. The driver of the Mustang was found unresponsive and ultimately passed away at the scene of the accident.
Verity was treated for injuries before being booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter. Police did say they believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash, also mentioning they don't believe the driver of the Mustang was wearing his seat belt.
The victim's name has not been released to the public yet. The crash is still under investigation.
