State lawmakers have voted to kill the "Add The Words" bill that would have extended protections from discrimination in housing and employment to gay, lesbian, and transgender people. 

Following days of testimony from the public, the House State Affairs committee voted 13-4 to block the bill from a full vote in the House.

Supporters of the bill to add the words "gender identity" and "sexual orientation" in the Idaho Human Rights Act had been working on this for nearly a decade.
