I think I may have messed up when I intervened in the Santa-child relationship last week.  Take my advice, and don't do this!

Dogs probably don't like holidays as much as we do.

I reflected on this last year around this time, and thought it was worth another look, because my Dad is still awesome, and hard to buy for.

My middle daughter turned 5 yesterday and at her birthday dinner last night I was asked to recount the story of her birth.  Sure!  Women tend to have those labor and delivery horror stories at the ready, and we're happy to share.  Because we lived through it!

Parents, these moments happen to you too, right?  I'm not alone with the chaos? As hard as I try to keep order, kids happen.  And every time I utter the phrase, "You know, Mama don't like messes," (which is a LOT!), the three year-old replies with, "But I do like messes!" She'...

Tuesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day, and chances are there is someone in your life you celebrate and honor because they've served in the military in some capacity.

I know this about myself and I've come to terms with it.  I am not good at Halloween.

One thing I've learned as a parent - it's awfully tough to plan how your day is going to go.  You just never know.  Sometimes it's better to go with the flow, and leave some space in your day for trips to Urgent Care. See that faint vertical line that follows the cut on Kallan's face down to her eyebrow?  That's the mark of a wall at preschool.  The corner of the wall won that battle.

Mike and Kate had a blast meeting people, seeing some awesome airbrush tattooing from Toppers & Tats, and lounging during the beautiful day at their pool party. From everybody at MIX we want to thank you and we look forward to seeing you all next year. ...
