I've recently started to encourage my toddler to help in the kitchen. He loves to pull up his stool and assist whether it's making oatmeal or a full dinner. He makes a mess, of course, but watching him learn new skills and have fun makes it so worth it. One of our favorite things to make together is cupcakes. No matter what your age, cupcakes are a crowd pleaser and come with a super easy recipe to help introduce your kids to baking. If your children love to bake and are looking for something a little more challenging, you definitely need to check out this local class!

On Saturday, March 8th, Kristina McDonald will be teaching a dinosaur-themed cupcake class for kids at JUMP in downtown Boise. The class will be held from 10am-noon and will teach your aspiring bakers tips for making the perfect cupcakes. McDonald, local baker and owner of Kristina Ann Cakes, encourages baking as a way to de-stress and bring joy to others. In this hands-on experience, she will help your children to mold modeling chocolate as well as learn various piping techniques.

The class is open for kids ages 8-12 and will be held in the Share Studio of the JUMP lobby at 1000 W Myrtle Street in Boise. Tickets are $25 per child and registration closes March 1st. Parents are welcome to stay and observe.
