Tater, spud, french fry, tuber, tot....call them what you will, it's a day to celebrate! It's National Potato Day and we live in the land of potatoes. I've found the best way to celebrate and it involves my adorable niece.

National Potato Day

On the list of random holidays, August 19th is National Potato Day! National potato day highlights the significance of world famous spuds and promotes its consumption in healthy diet forms. Potatoes are the 5th most consumed vegetable and they're considerably cheap and abundantly available (our Idaho backyard).
Apparently the celebration is much bigger in the United Kingdom but there is a guy here in the US who is making money off the spud and gave me a great idea on how to celebrate.
Potatoparcel.com is a website were you can send a message to someone on a potato. I try and send my niece, Delaney, gift for every holiday from St. Patrick's Day to Columbus Day! This week, she is getting a potato with a message! I think this is hilarious. For $9.99 I can send a potato message and some guy in Texas is getting rich off people like me. Now all I have to do is think of the perfect potato message.

Happy National Potato Day!
