I’m Still Basking In the Glow Of One Of The Most Fabulous Sports Weekends Ever!

I am still basking in the glow of a fabulous sports weekend. It began with me getting a BIG win over Kate in the Idaho Stampede Free- Throw shoot out....winning free tacos from Taco Bell for everyone sitting on my side of the Arena. That was just the beginning.

The Idaho Stampede followed up my free throw shooting butt kicking over Kate with one of the best basketball games I've seen in a long time.  With 3.7 seconds left in overtime, the Stampede, stole the ball and attempted to make a lay-in to win the game...oops not to be. Luckily, with some amazing hustle, the Stampede rebounded the ball and scored the bucket for the win!  Then upon arriving home I was able to watch the amazing end of the BSU game, where the Broncos came from behind in the final seconds to steal a victory over Utah State...Thanks to an amazing defensive hustle play by Derrick Marks.

The NFL games on Sunday, absolutely rounded out my weekend.

I am not a fan of the Denver Broncos, but this year I really really was pulling for the Broncos to make the Super Bowl so that Kate and I could win our pre-season as it was meant to be on the field....and what better way, than in Superbowl 48 in New York.

So in the AFC championship, the Broncos did their job and beat New England....so now it was left up to my beloved Seattle Seahawks and the 12th man.  It didn't look good early....first snap, fumble by Russell Wilson on the 15 yard line was not a good way to start a game, but I had faith, and sure enough, I don't know if you could feel it, but mighty momentum began to swing at about 8:15 left in the 3rd quarter...I even turned to my wife and said I felt a big momentum shift.....she just looked up from her phone and rolled her eyes...but sure enough for the rest of the game, the offense finally started rolling and the D as usual, came up big.....ending one of the best sports weekends that I can remember.

Yes I have enjoyed bigger wins....the BSU Fiesta Bowl was bigger....State Basketball tournament wins at Nezperce High was bigger, but never an entire weekend of win after win after win.....I can only hope that Super Bowl 48 can live up o this past weekend.....GO HAWKS!!!!!
