As it turns out Idaho has some of the rudest drivers on the road! I'm sure you don't need us to tell you that but now there's some scientific proof to back it up. Whether it's someone tailgating you or taking away your right of way, we've all dealt with some pretty rude drivers here. In fact, there are more rude drivers in Idaho than in almost every other state!

According to data from Insurify.com, Idaho comes in the #2 spot with the second-highest share of rude drivers in the nation. Rates of tailgating are ridiculously high - almost 5x higher than the national average. We also apparently don't know how to yield with failure to yield violations being more than twice as common in Idaho than in other states.

The 'rude driving behaviors' that this data is based on include failure to yield violations (failure to yield the right of way, failure to yield to a pedestrian), failure to stop violations (failure to stop for a red light, school bus, or stop sign), improper backing, passing where prohibited, tailgating, street racing, and hit-and-runs. For each state, Insurify calculated the proportion of drivers with one or more of these violations on their record. Therefore the states with the highest proportion of those drivers were deemed as the states with the rudest drivers.

Idaho falls right behind Virginia. Wyoming, New York, and Georgia round out the rest of the top 5. The most polite states were Kentucky, Mississippi, and Vermont.

Oh and to add to top it all off, Insurify did another study a few months ago to determine cities with the rudest drivers - THREE Idaho towns made the top 10 list there!
