Whenever we hear about police making a bust, most of us imagine a plethora of drugs and weapons being seized. But recently, Meridian police made a bust that looks more like they raided a candy shop than anything.

Idaho parents beware

It's no secret that going across the border to Oregon border to buy drugs and bring them back to Idaho is illegal. Unfortunately, a few people in the Meridian area apparently didn't get the memo. A group of 20-somethings is being charged with allegedly bringing edibles into the Treasure Valley... a LOT of edibles.

According to the post from Meridian police:

On July 20, 2023 at approximately 3:30pm, we served a search warrant at an apartment near the 3000 block of E Copper Point Dr. which yielded trafficking quantities of drugs including cocaine, marijuana, and edibles...

...During the search, officers found the following 909g of Cocaine, 2,759 units of Edible Psilocybin Mushrooms, 6,641 units of THC Edibles, 2,473g of Marijuana BHO Wax, 70g of raw Marijuana, and 77.22 pounds of Psilocybin Mushrooms. The edibles were packaged as popular candies and cereal brands with colorful and brand consistent packaging.

With as many drugs as police seized, one has to wonder if they were intending to sell or enjoy their stock for who knows how long. That being said, it almost seems as if they had a specific target with their choice of edibles. Take a look:

Sure, we know that these are for adults... but imagine a child coming across this, even by accident. Little ones would have no idea that these are not intended for them and the effects on their little minds could be dangerous, possibly having long-term effects.

You can check out the post from Meridian police below, but let us know your thoughts. Do you think these manufacturers are targeting children with their branding?
