I was in Idaho City the day after the fire that destroyed 4 businesses. It was so sad to see these buildings in this historic city burnt to the ground. Don't be fooled, Idaho City is not closed and there is still a ton to do, including Frontier Days this weekend. This tiny town relies on the summer tourists to help get them through the winter.

On top of visiting The Springs, Donna's Place and HD's Hideaway, to bolster local businesses, you can also donate to the Burn Out Fund that was created.

  • An account has been set up at D.L. Evans Bank. Make a donation to the Idaho City Main Street Burn Out Committee, EIN #47-4291264 at any of their locations. You can also call 208-991-0594 or email icityburnout@gmail.com to help.
Some businesses in Idaho City are also accepting donations on behalf of the burnout fund.

The way I see it, if I'm going to play in Idaho City and enjoy their beautiful backyard, then the least I can do is donate to the help rebuild their city. Again there is lots to do in Idaho City so make sure and plan at least a day trip. It's 45 minutes up Highway 21 from Boise.
