Zoo Boise is Giving YOU The Chance to Name Some of Their Animals
Zoo Boise welcomed some new babies this past spring. Right now, they're all waiting on names to be gifted to them and Zoo Boise is giving you the honors.
Zoo Boise's annual online silent auction is now open and running through Thursday, August 26th. In addition to one-of-a-kind items, packages, and gift cards, you can also bid on animal namings.
The online auction is all part of the Zoobilee celebration. According to Zoo Boise, Zoobiee helps to "support Zoo Boise and its mission of connecting our visitors with animals to inspire and involve our community in the conservation of wildlife worldwide." Tickets for the Zoobilee can be purchased through this link but participation in the online auction is entirely FREE and open to everyone (even if you can’t attend the event). You will need to sign up in order to bid on items and buy raffle tickets.
Some of the animal naming bids are online now and are currently accepting bids. These include for:
- 3 meerkats
- 1 gila monster
- 2 grey crowned crane
- red capped cardinal
- 2 taveta weavers
Most bids close on Thursday 09:00 PM MDT on 08/26/21. If you're looking to name a penguin chick, a couple of male vervet monkeys, or some red panda cubs then you'll have to be in attendance for the Zoobilee celebration presented by Perkins Coie, on Friday, August 27, 2021. General admission tickets start at $150. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age. Come dressed in your favorite black and/or white cocktail attire to enjoy a “winter in August” themed evening.
