Just looking at some of those drinks has me ready to get into the weekend. It's 5 O'clock somewhere--right?
Spend any time in downtown Boise on the weekends and you'll assume that everyone is a drunk! Stick around until 2:00 a.m. and you will witness more tears, more breakups, and more debaucherous fights than you could imagine.
Ok, so everything else aside--just how "drunk" is Idaho?
According to a study put together by 24/7 Wall Street, Idaho enjoys their drinks. The study was compiled by looking at "excessive drinking" figures. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this encompasses binge drinking (four or more drinks on a single occasion) or heavy drinking (which equates about eight or more drinks per week for women and fifteen or more for men).
The Great State of Idaho ranks 41st nationwide when it comes to being drunk: so, maybe we don't love our booze as much as you may have thought?
According to their findings:
- 16% of Idahoans drink excessively
- Driving deaths that are alcohol related: 30.2%
- Drunkest metro area in Idaho: Coeur d'Alene
- Percentage of adults in CDA drinking excessively: 20.3%
- Drunkest County in Idaho: Latah (the largest city here in Moscow: GO VANDALS)
