Like Peter Capaldi before, there’s no reason Doctor Who should wait until Christmas for the next Time Lord regeneration. A new teaser reveals that “Thirteen” will reveal him or herself on Sunday, July 16, after a nice game of tennis.

We’ll see the main man of Doctor Who himself at both New York Comic-Con and the upcoming Class premiere, but what of the series? It’ll be back at Christmas for a new special to lead into Season 10, as new details tease Shameless star Justin Chatwin in a super role.

Doctor Who has been saving Earth long enough that a few episodes have actually been lost to history (and poor storage), but at least one fateful adventure is getting a major update. The BBC will re-release 1966 outing “The Power Of The Daleks” this fall, reconstructed as a six-part animated production with original audio and film clips.

We won’t see Doctor Who again until the 2016 Christmas Special, even then without perhaps meeting the next companion to follow Jenna Coleman’s Clara, though he or she has apparently already been cast. Peter Capaldi says he’s already begun working with the franchise’s newest actor, perhaps precipitating a formal announcement soon.
