Over the past few years, for some reason or another, the Starbucks holiday cups have landed in the national spotlight and gone viral on social media. Here's how Starbucks is trying to win you over in 2018!

If you've secretly been jamming out to Mariah, *NSYNC, Bing Crosby and Michael Buble for weeks, chances are you're also making the transition from pumpkin spice latte to peppermint mocha this week.  All six of Starbucks holiday beverages including the peppermint mocha, gingerbread latte and eggnog latte return to the Treasure Valley today.  The 2018 launch coincides with the release of four different holiday cups. The cups this year are super festive with patterns from Christmas stars, to ugly sweater argyle and even holly and berries in a range of reds, greens and whites.

They're a far cry from the now infamous 2015 Holiday Cup, which angered Starbucks fans for being not being Christmasy enough. The plain red cups inspired the #MerryChristmasStarbucks movement where customers would tell their barista their name was "Merry Christmas" so that they'd be forced to write the word "Christmas" on the not so festive cups.

Well, that infamous 2015 cup has found it's way back into stores in 2018 but this time around, coffee fanatics are raving about it! Why? Because the cup is now made out of reusable material and FREE to customers on Friday, November 2 while supplies last! All you have to do is order a grande holiday beverage to receive one.

My barista at the Broadway Starbucks explained that if I bring it back anytime after 2 p.m. November 3 thru January 7, I'll get 50 cents off a grande beverage! Considering a new study just revealed that if you want to reap the ultimate benefits from an afternoon coffee, the perfect time to drink it is 2:16 p.m., this deal is perfect for those needing a little extra caffeine boost to get through the bottom half of the workday!
