Sesame Street Will Host Another ABCs of COVID-19 on CNN
Round the kids up for another edition of ABC's of COVID-19 starring Big Bird and all his friends. Sesame Street is hosting another town hall meeting on CNN that will update and educate children about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic during the holiday season.
According to a news release, Super Grover will be joined by CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Anchor Erica Hill in the special. Experts along with the the Sesame Street crew will "answer children's questions about staying healthy through the winter months, celebrating the holidays while distanced from extended family and friends and coping with big feelings as they continue to face unprecedented challenges in their young lives."
The iconic Sesame Street puppets partnered with CNN early on in the pandemic to create the ABCs of COVID-19. The programming is aimed at parents and their children with the goal to "provide information and tools for families, and answer the big questions both parents and kids have about the coronavirus pandemic."
Elmo also starred in a picture book released in September titled Heroes Wear Masks: Elmo's Super Adventure. The book guides and prepares readers for the new practices they face as they head back to the classroom. These practices include having to wash their hands more often, social distancing in the classroom, getting their temperatures taken at regular intervals and, of course, the importance of wearing a mask.
The ABCs of COVID-19 airs Saturday December 19th at 12:00 pm on CNN, and can also be viewed (without requiring a login) on CNN.com's homepage and mobile apps.
