Valentine’s Day is this weekend, which means we’ll start to see all of the husbands and boyfriends wandering the aisles of our local stores scrambling to get those last-minute chocolates and flowers. Really, bro? I was one.

We typically focus the holiday on the relationship we have with our spouse or significant other. But what about the little love warriors out there? Too many children will be spending the weekend in a hospital bed and it’s time to send them some love!

We've had our fair share of watching our son, Lennox, battle his own health scares and emergencies. We’ve spent more time than we’d ever wish in our local St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. But, so many families and kids haven’t been able to go home for too long and this year if anyone needs some encouragement and love sent their way, it’s them!

Saint Jude Research Hospitals is making it so quick and easy to participate! You can send a virtual Valentine’s Day E-Card to a patient in their hospitals! The cards themselves are inspired by patient artwork and you can choose to add a personal message or choose from a list of pre-written messages to add to your card! It really couldn't be any easier! You’re just a few clicks away from filling a patient’s day with all of the love they deserve!

Speaking from our own experience here in our local Children’s Hospital, sometimes it really is just those little things or words of encouragement that get you through difficult and challenging times. We spent Christmas in the hospital with Lennox and it was truly special to what our community is willing to do with gifts. We'll never forget that moment.

I was given the opportunity to help raise some money for St. Jude's Radiothon a few years back. Our sister station Wow Country 104.3 just raised over $100,000 dollars for these kids and families. Let's take a moment and send some love from Boise with a quick Valentine's Day E-Card to a child at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
