For decades, fathers have taken their children to Boise's Parkcenter Pond to teach them how to fish. It's the perfect spot for a beginner. It's easy to get to, there's plenty of parking, docks help you get out into the water, and it's well stocked. But is there something lurking there, deep in the water?

There have long been rumors of a giant sturgeon in Parkcenter Pond. "Goliath" has been talked about for almost twenty years. One Reddit user even claims that his grandfather put it there.

People once thought the giant fish had died, but then a local fisherman caught Goliath. He called the news, and they filmed the sturgeon before he was released back into the pond. This started a string of more Goliath sightings at Parkcenter Pond.

Now, nearly ten years later, questions about Goliath have resurfaced. Is the giant sturgeon still there? Did someone catch the legendary fish and take it home? Is it on the wall of a Treasure Valley home?

We believe that the nine-foot, 60-pound fish named Goliath is still there. When you go fishing and get a hit, a fish takes your bait and puts up a bigger fight than a typical rainbow trout. It was probably the legendary fish.

The next time you decide to take the kids fishing, the story of Goliath is the perfect one to get them interested in fishing. The next time you take a relaxing walk around the lake with a friend, the story of Goliath makes for interesting conversation. If you're by yourself, walking out onto a dock and looking out onto the water is a lot more fun when you're looking for a giant sturgeon in a place where it doesn't belong.
