Nurse at St. Luke’s Donates Kidney to 11-Year-Old Boise Girl
Sophia Fratto is the 11 year old girl we talked about a couple of months ago who has been battling kidney disease her entire life.
A nurse at St. Luke’s donated her kidney to Sophia who has had 19 surgeries in her 11 years! Can you imagine?? 19 surgeries!!
Sophia is currently in Salt Lake City and will spend several weeks recovering there. The students and teachers at Sophia’s school, INSPIRE Connections Academy, were so inspired by her story that they wanted to do something to help.
So, today, from 6-8pm there will be a fundraiser at La Creme Frozen Yogurt's Overland location (8184 W. Overland Rd. Boise, ID 83709).
20% of all proceeds from yogurt purchases during this event to go towards the Fratto family's GoFundMe fundraising page to help with travel and medical costs for Sophia.
It truly "takes a village" sometimes and to see our community come together for this little girl that some people have never even met, is so inspiring. With all of the negative in the world today, all of the horrible news we see every day, it's nice to see that there is something so good happening right here in the Treasure Valley.
I hope you will take your own family out to show your support to Sophia and her family and enjoy some frozen yogurt at the same time! :)
