United Rallycross Is Breathing New Life into an Abandoned Idaho Racetrack

United Rallycross, a new racing startup led by a pair of 20-something motorsports enthusiasts, is transforming an abandoned track into a rallycross and short course track.

Lost River Raceway, off Highway 26 in Blackfoot, Idaho, was originally intended to be a full racing complex, but it never fully materialized. It operated briefly as a motocross park before sitting abandoned for years—until now.

What Is United Rallycross in Blackfoot, ID?

URX is a new racing series built from the ground up by Clayton and his brother-in-law, Preston. They said they wanted to create a rallycross league that was accessible to the average driver—“not just the super-rich.” The project is being fueled by sweat equity and some financial backing.

They've spent the last several months restoring the grounds, reshaping the terrain, installing K-rails, and developing spectator zones to host competitive rallycross events.

Crowdfunding and Sponsorship Plans

In several social media videos, URX teased a crowdfunding campaign to help fund final construction and track upgrades. As of publication, I have not been able to locate any crowdfunding sources.

They’ve also asked the community for help with sponsorships and equipment needs heading into summer.

Drivers Are Signing Up—And So Is the Community

Word is spreading. URX says about 30 drivers have signed up for the 2025 season, and the first event is planned for July.

First Events Planned for July of 2025

United Rallycross plans to kick off its first official race weekend at Lost River Raceway on July 18–19, with additional events expected throughout the summer as construction continues. The team has hinted at a full festival-style racing series.
