Learn to Ski or Snowboard for FREE At Gateway Parks
More and more of my friends have been enjoying time on the mountain and I'm starting to feel a little left out.
I'd love to join them, but I don't know the first thing about skiing or snowboarding. Growing up, my youth group went to a ski resort once a year. I loved those trips, but the entire time we were there I never left the snow tubing hill. I'm the world's most uncoordinated human and my track coaches weren't exactly thrilled about the idea of me trying a new snow sport while I was in season. They knew I'd probably break myself.
Decades later, I think I've worked up the guts to give it a try! Have you been feeling the same way? Then don't miss out on this cool opportunity from Gateway Parks at Eagle Island State Park! They're teaming up with Tamarack Resort to give first-time skiers or snowboards FREE lessons two more times this season: Thursday, January 10 and Thursday, January 17. If you're interested, you won't have to play hooky from work to attend the sessions. They last about two hours and begin at 6 p.m.
The lessons are open to any first-timers 13 years of age or older and come with complimentary rentals from Play It Again Sports to get you started! Once you've successfully completed the class, you get an invite to show off what you've learned at Tamarack. That invite includes equipment rental, all mountain ticket and a lesson for just $49 at the resort. (We're staying at Tamarack for Winter Carnival this year, so if I live through my lesson at Gateway Parks, I'm all about it!)
Classes are limited to 30 people per session, so if you want to give it a try make your reservations through Tamarack's website HERE!
