Boise’s KTVB Announces New Weather Anchor With A Familiar Voice

KTVB has announced that a new personality is joining its news team. Most of KTVB's staff has previous television experience, some from competing television stations, but their newest staff member has a completely different background. However, Boise audiences may already be familiar with her.

Rachel Garceau, KTVB's Chief Meteorologist, introduced Ryan Antioette this afternoon during the 4 o'clock news. She will anchor the weather during the Noon and 4 p.m. newscasts on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the 10 p.m. news on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Ryan Antionette spent the past two years at Boise radio station Mix 106, where she co-hosted afternoons. Known for her fun, outgoing, and sometimes outrageous personality, she will bring a lot of life and laughs to the small screen when given the opportunity at Channel 7.

So, why the move to television? While she'll always love her time on the radio, she was ready for something different, and TV provides a new challenge. The opportunity to work at the Treasure Valley's top television outlet was also appealing.

“Radio will always have my heart—the listeners, the laughter, the non-existent dress code—but I was ready to embrace another facet of storytelling. And Idaho weather is certainly storied! It changes its mind more than my sixth grader changes her clothes, and those changes impact everything and everyone around us. I’m so looking forward to weathering the storm with KTVB’s incredible audience…and the fun weather puns, of course!”

Ryan has spent the past several weeks learning how to do television and learning how to do weather specifically. She credits Rachel Garceau as a great mentor to her in her new career.

She clearly has no ill will for her old employer as she gave her former station several shout-outs during her introduction and even mentioned that she doesn't need a streaming service because she still listens to her old station.
