According to One Study the Gem State is Full of Lazy People
When most people think of Idaho, they first think of potatoes, and then likely think of Boise State. When it comes to the potato part, they don't grow themselves, pick themselves, and end up on shelves. It takes hard-working farmers to do this work, and most would assume that Idaho, with all its farmland, would be full of hard-working farmers. While those who live here know that many are hard at work daily in the Gem State, according to a recent study, apparently, Idaho isn't as hardworking as other states. Which states have the hardest workers, which have the laziest, and how does Idaho compare to them?
The Hardest Working and Laziest States
Most workers take pride in their work and want to be known as a hard worker. Yes, some want to do as little as possible and get paid, but most pride themselves on working hard. WalletHub recently released a list ranking the hardest working states to the laziest and ranked them using categories such as direct work factors and indirect work factors. Using these criteria, it was determined that the hardest-working state is North Dakota, with Alaska being second, and South Dakota rounding out the top three. The laziest state, according to the study, is Michigan, with West Virginia being the second laziest, and Rhode Island rounding out the bottom three. How does Idaho compare, though, and where do they fall on this list?
Is Idaho a Hard-Working or Lazy State?
Contrary to popular belief, according to the study, Idaho is not one of the hardest-working states. The Gem State is not among the top ten, top twenty, or top half of the states. Idaho came in at 27 on the list, ranking 35th in direct work factors and 4th in indirect work factors. Despite the shockingly low ranking, there are two things that Idahoans will appreciate: Idaho is the state with the second most annual volunteer hours per resident, and the Gem State is the state that has the lowest average leisure time spent per day. It is difficult to understand how Idaho does not rank higher on the list, despite having the lowest time to relax and rest of any state.

While the ranking might be disappointing for Idaho, most residents know that those in Idaho work hard and take pride in their jobs. To see the full study, make sure to click the link in the second paragraph above.
