Dash Cam Footage Captures Terrifying Idaho Police Chase

There's always SOMETHING happening on the internet here in Idaho. Whether it's something political, silly, or just 'totally Idaho', the internet has a way of finding us these days. No more hiding, Idaho! There are cameras everywhere!

Today, a video of one rather crazy police chase has hit the internet and people are talking.

A chase? In Idaho??

A full blown police chase was taking place in the middle of I-84 near Ten Mile recently and the Idaho State Police Department handled it as safely as possible.

Imagine driving along the interstate and seeing a car zip by you (that isn't uncommon) only to be followed by a trail of police cars!

This is why we train the way we do.  Trooper Egle was fresh out of the academy and still in field training when he initiated a traffic stop on eastbound I-84. The driver failed to yield, leading to a pursuit between Nampa and Meridian.  As the suspect exited at Ten Mile Road — an area with heavy congestion — Sgt. Benjamin directed Trooper Egle to conduct a PIT maneuver on the ramp to reduce the risk to the public. Trooper Egle executed it successfully, safely ending the pursuit.  The driver was arrested and later found to be impaired.
