Boise State Legend Coach Pete Makes College Football Hall of Fame
It was an era for Boise State that fans will never forget and that, likely, may never be duplicated. A run of success so strong that Boise State football was a household name and a national threat. Ranked as high as #2 in the entire nation within the Top 25 poll -- the Broncos of this era will go down as some of the greatest to ever do it.
Many of those years were led by one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game: Kellen Moore.
You know the rest of the story-- Kellen graduated from Boise State as the winningest collegiate football player--ever. He went on to play in the NFL, coach the NFL as an offensive coordinator, and is now the Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints.
This past year, for the fifth year in a row, Moore was nominated to be in the College Football Hall of Fame. For the fifth year, he was snubbed. A shock.
While Kellen Moore will have to see what happens next year (for the sixth year), one other Boise State legend that knows Kellen Moore better than most WILL be getting inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame this year: Chris Petersen.
The 'Boise State internet' is totally upside down today. Thousands are cheering for Petersen and booing the committees lack of support for Moore.
The other coaches that will be inducted are:
Jim Margraff: Johns Hopkins (1990-2018)
Gary Patterson: Christian (2000-21)
Chris Petersen: Boise State (2006-13); Washington (2014-19)
Ken Sparks: Carson-Newman (1980-2016)
