Spirit of Boise Organizers Remain ‘Hopeful’ for Friday Balloon Launch

September has ushered in what is arguably the City of Boise's most beloved event: the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. The event brings a unique, colorful, and very photogenic opportunity to the skies and to Ann Morrison Park.

It doesn't matter where you look--when you see reading or marketing materials for Boise, Idaho they almost always include hot air balloons--and those shots are from this very event that really lives on year-round.

For the second morning in a row, rain caused canceled flights at the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic

Event organizers tell us that they're hopeful Friday will bring better weather and yes...balloon launches.

We spoke with Pete Mills of Townsquare Media, the company that puts on this great event. He spoke about the outlook for Friday

We love balloons and we're all hoping that these balloons get off of the ground!

Friday evening, the iconic 'Night Glow' event will take place, which offers an up close and personal view of the Spirit of Boise's balloons, inflating and lighting up from the ground, in the dark of night! It's amazing!

The first day of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic was a rainout, but kids were still able to meet pilots and check out their baskets!

As Boise residents wait for the hot air balloons to finally take the sky, here is a glimpse at the 45 balloons that you can expect to see over the sky...eventually!
