Rarely, have the fine folks of the small community of Driggs, Idaho been the center of attention. Most folks get their coffee at Wydaho Roasters and move on their merry way. Only in the polarizing political world can a coffee shop promoting coffee, homemade ice cream, and delicious baked goods could lead to the latest viral political moment.
The Owner Stands By His Decision But Gets Death Threats
The shop owner explained to the Cowboy State News that he and his wife have been getting death threats. He explained he tried to avoid the situation by telling the group on social media not to show up at his place. He continues by saying the video is edited.
A Progressive Meeting Spot, no Conservatives?
Owner Jim Sheehan was asked if he did allow the hosting of something called the Queer Coffee Hour. He told the publication that he flies the Gay Pride flag.
What's Next?
It depends on what side of the political isle you're on. Conservatives will most likely avoid the business, will liberal dollars be enough to keep it profitable? Could we see a lawsuit? Who knows, however, we hope the issue is discussed in a respectful way and no more death threats.
