Alcohol Suspected in Twin Falls County Crash That Claimed a Child's Life
A 39-year-old Buhl man and one juvenile passenger were killed Sunday evening in a rollover crash in Twin Falls County, and investigators believe alcohol and speed may have played a role.
According to a press release from Idaho State Police, the crash happened at 6:36 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, on East 4800 North near North 800 East, northwest of Buhl.
Pickup Rolled Multiple Times Northwest of Buhl
ISP said a gold 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 was heading westbound on 4800 North when it left the road, went off the right shoulder, and rolled multiple times.
The driver died at the scene, along with one of the three juvenile passengers who were in the truck.
Two Other Juveniles Survived The Crash
Police said a second juvenile was flown by air ambulance to a local hospital. A third juvenile was taken from the scene by personal vehicle.
ISP also said only one of the four people in the pickup was wearing a seatbelt.
Alcohol and Speed are Suspected Factors
Investigators say alcohol and speed are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash.
The road was blocked for about three hours while emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
Idaho State Police said it was assisted by the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, Magic Valley Paramedics, Air St. Luke's, Castleford Fire, Buhl Police Department, and Buhl QRU.
