Is This Addictive Treasure Valley Game Ruining Your Life Too?

I told myself I wouldn't play this year, but when I saw the icon change on its app, I couldn't help but get a little giddy!

I have so many apps on my phone that I never use. In fact I forget most of them are even there until their creators issue an update that completely changes the icon on my home screen. A few days ago, I notice that the icon for the Albertsons "Shop, Play and Win" Monopoly game. I promptly marched into the living room, shoved it in my husband's face and announced "it's on!"

It's officially that time of year again where I become absolutely shameless playing the addicting grocery store game. I get so sucked into the game that I stand behind you in the checkout line, secretly hoping you'll turn down your the pieces so that the cashier can give them to me. I'm the girl who begs her friends for their pieces. I'm the girl that will do my grocery shopping for the week over the course of several days and buy only items marked with bonus pieces, just to maximize my chances of filling up my game board.

Every year I tell myself that I'm never getting sucked into this game again because I never win anything. But last year? We won a $5 Albertons gift card..so I took it as a sign that I must play in 2019 because there's a bigger, better prize in my future!

I picked up our game board on Tuesday night, but they don't actually start handing pieces out until today (February 6.) The game's start date just so happens to coincide with National Play Monopoly Day.
