Huffman Gets 14 Days
It was a scene that some would say could be mistaken for an episode of the ABC Classics series Desperate Housewives. One of Hollywood's biggest star has accepted a plea bargain and will now spend 14 days in jail for her admission of the crimes. Scandal Actress Felicity Huffman has been sentenced to 14 days behind bars for her role in the infamous college admissions scandal. The former Desperate Housewives star pleaded guilty back in May to paying $15,000 to fraudulently boost her daughter's SAT scores. At her sentencing hearing in Boston, Huffman told the court that she was "deeply ashamed of what I have done."
She will spend 14 days in jail followed by one year of supervised release, along with a $30,000 fine and 250 hours of community service. Huffman is the first parent to be sentenced in connection with the scandal, which involves dozens of people including former Full House actress Lori Loughlin.
Unlike Huffman, Loughlin has refused to cooperate with the authorities. She plans to fight the multiple allegations in court. The allegations and scandal has cost both Hollywood divas dearly. Most experts believe it will be quiet some time before either appears on the big or small screen.
Back to Huffman, does the sentence sound fair to you? Is jail time called for? How will this affect Huffman's Hollywood career? Would you ever try to rig a way for your kid to get into college?
