Horseshoe Bend Soldier Dies In Iraq
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of 20-year-old Spc. Michael T. Osorio of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho who just died serving his country. Osorio was on his very first deployment in Taji, Iraq and as of now, we have no idea how he died. According to KTVB, we only know that it was not through some type of combat.
Osorio was an intelligence analyst in Fort Carson's 3rd Armored Brigade, part of the 4th Infantry Division. He was way too young to die and he leaves behind a sea of people, friends, and family absolutely devasted by this shocking news.
Each member of our military puts themselves out there for our entire country every single day whether they know it or not. Whether we know it or not. Each day could be their last and for Osorio, that day unfortunately came. I can't possibly express my gratitude for this young man and what he stood for. I live in a country where I can do what I want to do... where my children can go to the movies, play soccer, hang out with friends, and vacation anywhere in the world. I know these privileges come at a cost and it breaks my heart that part of this cost was this young man sacrificing his life.
Osorio's decorations include the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Please take a moment tonight and pray for this young man's family. God bless them.
