Epic Garden City Burger Spot More People Should be Talking About
Unassuming Burger and Hot Sandwich Shop in Garden City, Idaho
I’m a huge fan of food. During my first few weeks living in Boise, I’ve been working through the local staples recommended by my co-workers and Twin Falls friends who’ve lived in the Treasure Valley for years.
Pizza and meatball subs are my go-to comfort foods. You gave me great suggestions when I asked about the best pizza spots in Boise. So far, I’ve tried Flying Pie and Pie Hole, and both were fantastic.
No Diet Can Stop Me From Ordering a Meatball Sub
I’ve got a soft spot for meatball subs. Doesn’t matter if I’m trying keto, paleo, or whatever low-carb thing is trending. If there’s a meatball sub on the menu, I’m ordering it without hesitation.

A Total Fluke Turned Into a Top Food Find
I was pulling into the parking lot at The Rev for the Dyllan Scott concert last week. It had been one of those nonstop days at work, and I hadn’t had a chance to eat. I snagged my phone, searched for nearby food, and picked one of the closest spots without giving it much thought.
Turned out to be one of the best food decisions I’ve made since moving here.
Walked in Wanting a Burger, Left Dreaming About That Sub
Hit List, located in the Glenwood Shopping Center in Garden City, isn't flashy. It’s a low-key mom-and-pop shop with a clean setup, simple tables, and plenty of room to sit. Nothing over the top, just a solid place you’d feel good dining in. They also sport some pretty awesome pinball machines you can play while you wait for your order.
I had burgers on the brain when I walked in, but then I saw their hot sandwich menu. When I spotted the meatball sub, I had to give it a go.
This Might Be the Best Meatball Sub in Idaho
The sub was everything I hoped for. The meatballs were handmade, the sauce tasted fresh, and the whole thing just worked. No weird fillers, no canned shortcuts, just legit flavor from start to finish. Oh, and don't judge me (or Hit List) for the lack of cheese on my sub. I have a love/hate relationship with dairy, so I ordered mine sans mozzarella.
It's Not Just the Sub
After my meal, I looked at their reviews. Everything from their burgers to pulled pork gets high marks. You've probably lived here longer than I, so maybe I'm preaching to the choir. But with an overall 4.8 rating on Google, I suggest that if you haven't tried Hit List yet, you do it... and do it soon.
