Over the last couple of months, things have been shaking up and moving around at The Village at Meridian.  One of its newest tenants is ready to celebrate their grand opening next weekend!

Adding a Columbia Sportswear store at The Village at Meridian has been in the works since August 2018, but its anticipated grand opening shifted around a few times. When the store was originally announced, it was supposed to share a building with Cafe Zupas right off of Eagle Road rather than opening in the main part of the outdoor mall.  At the time, the plan was to have it up and running in the fall of 2018.

It didn't happen, but it actually lead to a huge opportunity for the retailer.  Z Gallerie closed with little notice in January 2019, leaving a huge storefront available and Columbia took advantage of it! They'll open to the public this Friday, May 24.

If you don't get a chance to stop in because you're heading out on an adventure for Memorial Day weekend, the grand opening festivities take place next week.  Those kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 31.

Columbia's CEO, Tim Boyle, will be in town for the ribbon cutting celebration.  The party continues on Saturday, June 1 with something they're calling a "Story Slam." From 4-6 p.m. you're welcome to share your tales of mishaps on the Boise Foothills trails and other outdoor adventures in the Treasure Valley. (I certainly have one about epically Superman-ing down Sidewinder a few years ago and turning my knee into ground beef to share.) Make enough people laugh and you may win some Columbia swag! Payette Brewing, The STIL and Paddles Up Poke will all be part of the fun that evening.

In addition to its popular coats and jackets, the store will carry all the essentials people need to enjoy the great outdoors in the Treasure Valley including footwear and accessories.
